A grassroots rally team comprising of a brother-sister, driver-codriver duo.

Northern Sky Rally Team (NSRT) is a new grassroots rally team that has been a lifelong dream for Aakash & Uttara Desai. Ever since they were first introduced to rally as toddlers growing up in Dubai, they have both been hooked to the gnarly wickedness of rallying. Having volunteered, marshaled, spectated and crewed around the globe in Dubai, Eastern Himalayas, Corsica, Mexico, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Maine, etc., the siblings are finally making the plunge to competing for the very first time in 2015. See Aakash's article on how to be prepared to spectate / volunteer which was published both on Rally Takeover and on Jalopnik

For 2015, the team's aim is to compete in 2 of the all-time classic rallies in North America sanctioned by Rally America. Their goal is get to the finish line on both rallies with one motto in mind; to use this season as a learning year to improve their driving, navigation and teamwork skills.

On June 5th and 6th, they will be competing in their very first event at the Susquehanna Trail Performance Rally in Wellsboro, PA, followed by the New England Forest Rally in Newry, Maine on July 17th and 18th.

Through a successful crowdfunding campaign in late 2014/early 2015, the team has been able to raise significant funding to cover the initial expenses of competing for the 2015 racing season. This year the team will be renting a rally car and crew from Broken Motorsports out of Union, NJ; owned and operated by William Petrow, the Mt. Washington Hillclimb 2WD record holder. (Click the link to see the record run). The car they will be driving is a rally prepped 2000 Subaru Impreza RS.

From 2016 onwards, the team is looking for sponsors who are willing and able to support a family-owned and operated motorsports team. Your commitment will help us advertise your name on our rally car and together we could forge a long lasting and successful relationship.
